Everything here is published to inform. It is compiled carefully from published sources, checked, dated and corrected when readers point out errors — but accuracy is pursued, not guaranteed. Nothing on this site should be relied on as legal, official, medical, financial or administrative advice, and nothing here is a substitute for an official record. For population statistics, administrative boundaries, legal status or anything with consequences attached, use the relevant Nigerian government source.

How the material is put together, and the limits of it, are set out in sources and methodology.

Quoting and reuse

You may quote from NigeriaBase — a passage, a definition, a figure — provided you attribute it to NigeriaBase and link to the page you took it from. Teachers, students, journalists and writers are all covered by that, and no permission is needed.

What is not permitted is bulk copying: reproducing whole entries, republishing sections of the site elsewhere, or scraping pages automatically to build a derivative database or to train a product on the material as a whole. If you want to do something at that scale, ask first — the answer is often yes, but it should be a conversation rather than a raid.

Corrections and submissions

If you send a correction, a suggestion or a source through the contact form, you are giving us permission to use it in the site. Submissions are reviewed by a person and are not published automatically, and the resulting page text remains ours to write. We may edit, condense or decline what is sent. We do not publish the names or email addresses of people who write in.

External links

Entries link to government bodies, institutions, publications and other reference sites. Those links are there because they are useful, not as an endorsement of the organisation, its views or anything else it publishes. We do not control what sits behind a link and are not responsible for it.

Availability

The site is provided as it is. It may be unavailable at times, entries may be revised or withdrawn, and no undertaking is given that any particular page will remain in place.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The current version is always the one on this page, and the last-updated date is shown with it.
